My niece is now a legal adult!

I am so fortunate to have my niece and nephew live in the same town as me. Well, for now anyway. Katie will be attending UCLA in the fall. Matthew will be going to Cate, a boarding school in Carpinteria in August, but he will only be a 30 minute drive away from me. I am so proud of them both!

This week was Katie's 18th Birthday. I remember holding her as a baby, and it doesn't seem that long ago! Now she is at the age where she can vote, gamble (at Indian reservations anyway), dance at 18 and over clubs, buy cigarettes and porn (which she won't be doing)! ; ) How did this happen so fast?

We got to celebrate with family tonight at Something's Fishy (like a Benny Hana's, where they cook in front of you). It was a fun night. Owen was in awe of the fire show with his dinner! He used chopsticks for his fried rice which kept him in his seat for the duration of dinner. I am going to bring chopsticks with me every time we go out from now on!
