Thanksgiving 2010
This year we went to my cousins Kim Ken's house in Camarillo for Thanksgiving. It was really nice. We had good food, good wine, played games, and had lots of laughs. It was a fulfilling night. I love my family. I am thankful for each and every one of them.

Lil' Manning
My friend Marina introduced me to a fun blog called Chasing Cheerios. Once a year this blogger takes pictures of of her daughters in her wedding dress. This shows how much they grow through the years. I love this idea and want to do it with Emily when she turns one. I borrowed the idea from this site and thought I would do this with Owen wearing Adam's Giant's jersey. (Which he LOVES to wear around the house). I was having trouble getting a good shot of Owen in this jersey, so this picture will have to do for now, until I can get him another day soon.

Wig?
When people meet Emily for the first time, 99% of the time, they say "Look at that hair!!" Yes, she has a lot of hair for a baby. It's getting longer by the day. These pictures made me laugh so I had to post them. I just got her out of the bath and fluffed up her curls before I combed it. Adam says she looks like a little old lady. You be the judge.

San Luis Obispo Children's Museum
Owen's school was closed for Veteran's Day, so we decided to spend the day in San Luis Obispo and check out the Children's Museum. Owen was pretty grumpy that morning because he wanted to take the stroller there, not the car....he had no idea that we had an hour and 45 minute drive ahead of us. This is how our day went....
Owen and Emily went for a ride on a real police motorcycle!
Emily would not let go of these silk flowers in the farmers market section of the museum.
Owen got to be a bus driver and take Mommy, Daddy and Emily "to Santa Barbara."
Owen got to play Doctor on his little personal patient, Emily.
Emily had a lot of fun playing as well.
She was even game to have another little girl listen to her heart beat as well.
Our little fireman.

Emily found the perfect little chair that was just her size : )
We realized at lunch that Owen was sick when he refused to eat (which NEVER happens) and started a fever. It only lasted two days and he is back to normal now. I felt so bad for him. He was such a Mamma's boy when he wasn't feeling well.
Emily was as happy as could be.
She got a clean bill of health on the chart he filled out for her ; )

Backyard Run
I am going to be totally honest here and tell you that we have had some issues with Owen screaming (at the loudest level I have EVER heard in my life) and not listening or behaving. Some just blame it on his age, I hear that the "'terrible two's' have nothing on the three's" (According to my oldest friend, Amy, who has THREE boys). I don't know if this is true but I do know that we are tired of it. Some days are easier than others. Sometimes I feel like I am living with a boy with multiple personalities. One minute he is the sweetest little angel who is full of hugs, I love yous, and fun stories, and the next minute it's the devil himself hiding in my son's body. Well not really, but it sure feels that way!
Today was one of those "two sided" days. Around 4:00 Adam needed a break to clear his head and went for a hike out back alone. Owen and I were reading books with Emily and he told me he really wanted to go too (in a crying whining voice). I gave Adam a head start and got the kids ready to go as well. I said we would go out and try to find Daddy in the eucalyptus forest. I thought some good old fashioned exercise might do the trick and get his evil side a rest!
I was right. He did laps up and down big hills, yelled at the top of his lungs "BLAST OFF!!" while throwing sticks straight up in the air and by the end of it all, he wanted to hold my hand the rest of the way back, gave me kisses on demand and was a happy boy the rest of the night. Here are my happy boy pictures from this evening.

Not sure where he picked up this running with his tongue out thing?
